LivePlan Strategic Advisor

LivePlan offers 2 courses on a regular basis: LivePlan Method, and Using LivePlan in Your Practice. These courses are intended to fully train the user in LivePlan, as well as the methodology for financial forecasting and strategic advising using LivePlan as a method.

Best Practice courses are also offered from time to time on industry subject matter that is relevant to Strategic Advisors. See the list below for current offerings. On occasion you will see special events posted. LivePlan believes firmly in the ongoing education and support of our customers. These special events often include thought leaders in the accounting industry with a focus on being a proactive trusted advisor.

Users may take our Expert Advisor Exam at any point during their training. Refer to our Expert Advisor description and standards for information on becoming a LivePlan Certified Expert Advisor. Below the training schedule is information on steps for obtaining and retaining LivePlan Expert Advisor status.

Feb. 1st at 11:30 AM PST: Standing Out In Your Field: A LivePlan Webinar with Geni Whitehouse At LivePlan we know that it takes a strong leader to begin an advisory relationship. Good strategic advisors must have the confidence necessary to engage with their clients, and we know this can feel like a major shift for many. The work, and even the client relationship, can feel different. We are very excited to offer a customer webinar entitled Standing Out In Your Field, given with Geni Whitehouse. This will be an intimate session, with lots of room for Q&A. LivePlan Method: Learn the concepts of Strategic Advising and Financial Forecasting: The LivePlan Method. Using the framework of The LivePlan Method, learn the difference between a budget and a forecast, and how to use a forecast to turn client goals into strategic metrics. Learn why a business plan is important and how the business model is the bedrock of the forecast. Review the components of the LivePlan software application and how its feature sets work together.

Using LivePlan in Your Practice: Using the framework of The LivePlan Method, learn how to systematically build a Business Plan and Financial Forecast in LivePlan, as well as how to work with your client to get the information and data necessary to build a plan and forecast.

Learn how to establish and implement a Strategic Advisory service offering within your practice. Learn how to organize the tasks of Strategic Advising, and how to use this process to establish pricing. In addition, learn how to prepare and present monthly strategic advising information to your clients.

LivePlan Certification Program

Our Expert Advisor Program exists for those who would like certification status in LivePlan. In addition, Certified Expert Advisors receive access to a LivePlan marketing toolkit and website directory as a way to promote their business, and a "badge" for their company's website and email correspondence.

For a limited time, certification is FREE.

LivePlan Expert Advisor Certification

Requirements to Become a Certified LivePlan Expert Advisor:

  1. Complete the 2 main courses: LivePlan Methodology AND Using LivePlan in Your Practice
  2. Complete the Certification Exam, click here to access the exam
  3. Set up one LivePlan account with the following minimum requirements:
    • Basic Customer Information in the Pitch section
    • Opportunity Information in the Pitch section
    • Full Forecast including: Revenue, Direct Costs, Expenses and Assets
    • View Benchmarks
    • Beginning Balances
    • 1 Financing Scenario
    • Cash flow neutral Forecast
    • Synch and Map accounting Software, or manually enter at least 1 month of actuals
    • Set up one Milestone Schedule event

Please use the same email that your LivePlan account is under for registration and attendance to our webinars. This will ensure credit is received for certification requirements.

Attend 2 Best Practice Webinars per *year AND pass a yearly exam, click here for the certification renewal exam

or

Attend 2 Best Practice Webinars per *year AND be **active with 3 or more client instances per account

*Year = one year from your individual date of Certification. Note: initial renewals will be given until the end of this calendar year or a year from original certification date, whichever is later.

**Active = using the client instances on a monthly or quarterly basis

Requirements for Expert Advisor Directory Listing:

*To remain listed in the Directory you must continue to advise at least 3 clients with LivePlan. We review listingsquarterly.
