Funding Guidance

Business funding, start to finish.

Funding is a maze, and nobody hands you a map

A real funding expert finds the right funding for your business, then helps you prep what you need and walks you through the entire process.

How to choose?

SBA 7(a), 504, microloan, term loan, line of credit, investors – which one is even realistic for you?

What steps do you take?

The application is complex, and one inconsistency can stall it for months.

What could go wrong?

Every lender wants something different. None of them tell you why you were declined.

What do you do next?

Debt or equity isn’t just a money question – it shapes the next five years of your business.

  2. Get through the process Document prep, a lender-ready plan and forecast, a review of everything before it goes out, interview prep – and if the answer is no, a plan B. With two calls every month, you’re never guessing what’s next.

Why choose LivePlan’s Funding Guidance service?

On your side of the table

Frequently asked questions

What’s included for $100/month?

A 45-minute kick-off call and then weekly phone check-ins with a small business funding expert, plus unlimited email support. Your expert takes you through a business analysis to find the right funding type, helps you prepare your loan documents, and walks you through the whole funding process.

Do I need to be a LivePlan customer?

Yes. The program is available only to LivePlan customers – your plan and forecast, the core of any loan file, are built and kept in LivePlan. Not a customer yet? Start with LivePlan.

Are you a loan broker?

Yes. In addition to your monthly fee, we’re compensated by a commission from the lender when your loan funds. That’s by design: our incentive is to get you funded with a loan that fits – not to keep you on calls. Your expert will walk you through exactly how the commission works before you apply.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There’s no contract or minimum commitment – cancel your Funding Guidance subscription whenever you like. Your plan, forecast, and documents stay in your LivePlan account.

What do I need to qualify for an SBA loan?

Generally: a credit score in the 640+ range, a solid business plan with financial projections, and some owner equity – but requirements vary by program and lender. Your business analysis tells you where you stand before you apply.

Which SBA loan is right for a small business?

7(a) is the general-purpose workhorse; 504 fits real estate and equipment; microloans cover smaller amounts with easier entry; Express SBA can fund in as little as 7 days if speed matters more than amount. Which fits you depends on amount, use, timeline, and stage – that’s the first thing your expert works out with you.

What documents do lenders require?

Typically: a business plan, three-year financial projections, personal and business tax returns, bank statements, and personal financial statements. Your expert builds the checklist for your specific path – and helps you produce the hard ones.

How long does SBA approval take?

Commonly 30–90 days from a complete application for standard SBA products, or as fast as 7 days through Express SBA – and ‘complete’ is the key word either way. Most delays come from gaps and inconsistencies, which is exactly what preparation with your expert prevents.

Do you guarantee funding?

No – and be wary of anyone who does. What we change is the quality of your application and the fit of your ask. You walk in with the documents lenders scrutinize most, done right.

What if I don’t qualify?

You’ll know – and why. If your analysis shows you’re not ready yet, you’ll get the specific reasons and what to fix – not silence. Most gaps are fixable; your expert will tell you what it’d take to get there.

Can you help if I’ve been turned down before?

Yes. A denial usually has a fixable cause – weak projections, thin documentation, wrong product. We find it, fix it, and map the next application.

What about grants?

Real small-business grants exist but are narrow, competitive, and slow – most businesses fund with loans or investment. If grants genuinely fit your situation, your expert will say so.

Can I talk to someone before signing up?

Yes. Book a call and we’ll answer your questions and help you decide if the program is right for you.
