Writing your business plan doesn’t have to be hard. But, unfortunately, business planning can feel intimidating, especially for new business owners and entrepreneurs who may not have tons of business experience.
That’s why we built LivePlan—to make business planning easy and approachable for anyone, yet powerful enough to meet the needs of any business.
LivePlan has always helped you write a solid business plan, but it was time for us to take a look at how we could make the process even easier. We wanted to make your business plan easier to read, easier to write, and easier to customize. So, we’ve rebuilt the business plan writing functionality in LivePlan from the ground up.
Here’s a quick look at our latest updates and changes.
Distraction-free writing
According to writing experts and coaches, the best writing and creativity happens when you minimize distractions. That can mean turning off email and other notifications, clearing your desk, turning off the TV, and so on.
In LivePlan, we’ve made an effort to help you minimize those distractions by making writing and editing a “full screen” experience. When you click the “edit” button on any topic, you’ll be left with only the necessities that you need for writing your business plan: instructions, examples, and your writing area. That’s it. Simpler, faster customization
The LivePlan business plan outline is an excellent format for your business plan. It’s been created by experts, reviewed by business schools and SBA-lenders, and battle tested through hundreds of thousands of loan applications and funding rounds.
But, sometimes you might want to customize it to fit your own needs. The new LivePlan outline is now much easier to customize. You can rearrange things to fit your needs, remove items you don’t need for your business plan, and add custom sections to make your plan as unique as your business is.
A better reading experience for guests
You might just be writing your business plan to organize your own thoughts, but it’s much more likely that you’re going to be sharing your plan with others.
LivePlan makes it easy to add guest readers to your account for free. It’s a great way to share your plan and gather feedback.
With the new business plan outline, guests can navigate through your plan quickly and easily. We’ve removed some of the extra useless layers that used to be in place in each section, which will make it possible for people to read your plan easier and faster.
