Product Update: Export to PowerPoint, Forecast Recurring Revenue Streams, and More

Posted By

We introduced two notable features (and a bunch of small improvements) in our recent monthly update. We hope you like them!

Export your pitch as a slide deck
One of our top feature requests is now available in the app. Just click the Present option under the Pitch tab, and you can now export the content of your pitch as a PowerPoint file.

As you have probably discovered by now, the Pitch Builder in the app makes it easy to build an infographic-style view of the most important aspects of your business. What problem do you solve, and how, and for whom? How will you make and spend your money? Who else is competing in this space? How will you reach your market? All of this information appears on your pitch, which is an integral part of our live planning process.

Since we introduced this feature last December, more than 27,000 customers have created a pitch for their organization, and thousands of them have published their pitch to share with others.

As plenty of users have pointed out, the pitch infographic contains much of the same information that entrepreneurs need when presenting their business idea to raise money, attract new talent, and so on. With the new PowerPoint export, you can output your pitch details to a .pptx file, which you can open in your favorite presentation software — or upload to a slide sharing service — and use to accompany a great live pitch.

Forecast recurring revenue streams
As LivePlan users ourselves, we are really happy to announce the addition of recurring-charge revenue streams to the sales forecast. (Note that we have renamed it to “revenue forecast” to better serve our nonprofit customers.) You can now create a “revenue stream” (rather than a “product”) for each of your sources of income. Then you can choose whether that revenue stream consists of general revenue, unit sales, or recurring charges.

The latter option is super-useful for magazine subscriptions, gym memberships, software-as-a-service products (like LivePlan itself), and other offerings that involve signups, recurring billings, cancellation rates, and the like.

How are we doing?
As always, we are eager to hear your thoughts on our latest work. What do you think of the new features? What would you like to see us tackle next? Click the Contact Us button at the top of the app to share your feedback.
