Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026

Applies to: LivePlan web application (app.liveplan.com and partner-branded deployments)

Our commitment

Palo Alto Software, Inc. is committed to ensuring that LivePlan is usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We believe business planning tools should be accessible to entrepreneurs, students, advisors, and teams regardless of how they interact with technology.

We design and improve LivePlan with accessibility in mind and evaluate the product against recognized industry standards. Accessibility is an ongoing effort: we fix barriers as we find them, incorporate accessibility into our development process, and respond to feedback from customers and accessibility specialists.

Scope

This statement describes the accessibility of the LivePlan web application—the authenticated product where customers create business plans, build financial forecasts, track performance, and collaborate with their team.

It does not cover:

  • The LivePlan marketing website (liveplan.com), which is maintained separately
  • Third-party websites linked from LivePlan
  • Desktop or mobile apps published outside the web application
  • Content created by customers inside their own plans (user-generated text, images, and exports)

Partner-branded deployments of LivePlan (for example, white-label or co-branded experiences) use the same application core described here, though navigation labels, support links, or policy URLs may differ.

Standard

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 as our primary technical standard and aim for Level AA conformance for applicable parts of the LivePlan web application.

Where relevant, we also consider Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and common procurement accessibility requirements used by educational and institutional customers.

Conformance status

LivePlan is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

“Partially conformant” means that some parts of the application do not fully meet the standard. The sections below describe accessibility features we provide, known gaps we are working to address, and how to report problems we may not yet know about.

We do not claim full conformance at this time. Conformance may vary by page, feature, browser, and assistive technology combination—particularly in complex areas such as the business plan editor and financial forecast tables.

Accessibility features

LivePlan includes the following accessibility capabilities across much of the application:

Navigation and structure

  • Skip links to jump directly to main content and primary navigation
  • Landmarks and headings to help screen reader users understand page structure
  • Consistent navigation patterns across major product areas (Plan, Forecast, Dashboard, Pitch, and related tools)

Keyboard access

  • Core workflows are operable with a keyboard without requiring a mouse
  • Visible focus indicators on many interactive elements (buttons, links, and form fields)
  • Modal dialogs that trap keyboard focus while open and return focus when closed
  • Escape closes many overlays and dialogs

Visual design

  • Color contrast aligned with design system tokens for most primary UI
  • Text resizing supported through browser zoom on most pages
  • Links and controls designed to be identifiable beyond color alone in primary flows

Forms and controls

  • Labels associated with many form inputs
  • Accessible names on icon-only buttons and toggles in newer and remediated surfaces
  • Error and status messaging in standard form patterns

Assistive technology support

  • Semantic HTML and ARIA attributes where needed to convey roles, states, and names to assistive technologies
  • Plan editor content region exposed to assistive technologies with appropriate roles and labels

Specific feature availability may differ between product areas. See Known limitations below.

Supported environments

Accessibility behavior depends on your browser and assistive technology. LivePlan is tested and supported on current versions of major browsers. For the list of browsers we officially support, see our FAQ on supported browsers.

We test with common assistive technology combinations, including:

  • Screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom up to 200%
  • Narrow viewports down to 320px width (with known layout limitations)

We cannot guarantee identical behavior across every browser, operating system, and assistive technology pairing—especially in rich editing and data-grid experiences.

Known limitations

The following areas may present barriers for some users. We are actively working to reduce or eliminate these gaps.

Third-party content and integrations

LivePlan embeds or links to third-party tools for customer support, help documentation, analytics, and similar services. These experiences are built and maintained by external vendors and may not meet the same accessibility standards as LivePlan core functionality.

Examples include live chat widgets, embedded help content, and certain onboarding or product-tour overlays. When a third-party tool creates a barrier, we work with the vendor where possible and offer alternative support channels (see Feedback and assistance).

Business plan editor (rich text)

The business plan is edited in a rich-text editor that supports formatting, tables, images, and embedded widgets. This type of editing surface has inherent complexity:

  • Screen reader announcements and caret behavior may vary by browser and assistive technology
  • Some toolbar actions rely on custom controls that require keyboard and ARIA support maintained over time
  • AI-assisted writing features add dynamic content that may not always be announced predictably

You can navigate to and edit plan content with a keyboard in most scenarios, but the experience may not match a plain text editor or word processor.

Financial forecast tables

Financial forecast views use spreadsheet-style tables. LivePlan supports keyboard focus and editing in forecast cells, but:

  • Full two-dimensional arrow-key navigation (moving freely across rows and columns as in desktop spreadsheet software) is not implemented across the entire grid
  • Some table actions (context menus, merge flows, and specialized editors) may require additional keyboard steps or mouse interaction
  • Very wide tables may require horizontal scrolling, which can affect users at high zoom levels or on narrow screens

We are improving keyboard interaction in forecast tables as part of our ongoing remediation work.

Layout, zoom, and reflow

Most pages support browser zoom, but some complex layouts—dashboards, data-heavy tables, modals, and side-by-side editing views—may:

  • Require horizontal scrolling at 200% zoom or on very narrow screens
  • Crop or obscure peripheral content before responsive breakpoints reflow the layout
  • Present challenges in Industry Data and similar data-visualization modals at small viewport sizes

Legacy and complex UI

LivePlan is a large, long-lived application. Some older screens, legacy overlays, and highly specialized workflows may still have:

  • Missing or inconsistent page titles and heading hierarchy
  • Controls without visible focus indicators
  • Icon-only buttons without text alternatives
  • Color contrast that does not meet AA in secondary or legacy styling
  • Focus order that does not always match visual layout

We prioritize fixes in high-traffic paths (Plan, Forecast, Dashboard, account management, and onboarding) and expand coverage over time.

Exported and printed content

Documents exported from LivePlan (for example, PDF, Word, and print layouts) are generated from customer plan content and templates. Export accessibility depends on both LivePlan’s export pipeline and the resulting file format. We do not guarantee that every export meets WCAG requirements without customer review and remediation of their content.

PDF and document downloads from help or marketing

Help articles, templates, and marketing materials linked from LivePlan may be PDFs or other formats outside our direct control.

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time project. Our ongoing work includes:

  • Remediating findings from internal reviews and external accessibility evaluations
  • Automated testing with industry tools (including axe-core) integrated into our quality process
  • Manual testing with keyboard navigation and screen readers on major product flows
  • Developer guidelines so new features follow accessible patterns (semantic HTML, labels, focus management, and contrast tokens)
  • Tracking and prioritization of issues by severity and customer impact

Major product areas under active accessibility review and improvement include the Plan editor, Forecast tables, Dashboard, Pitch, Guide, Industry Data, account and billing flows, and modal-heavy workflows.

Evaluation and testing methods

We assess LivePlan accessibility using a combination of:

Method

Purpose

Automated scans (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A/AA rules)

Detect common issues at scale across pages

Manual keyboard testing

Verify focus order, traps, and operability

Screen reader testing

Validate announcements, landmarks, and labels

Zoom and reflow testing

Identify layout failures at 200% zoom and 320px width

External audits

Independent evaluation against WCAG criteria

Test coverage focuses on authenticated product pages. Results inform our remediation roadmap; not every page or state is tested before each release.
